Ten Questions Asked by My 10 year old Nephew Steven
(for a school project)
Where are you from?:
I grew up in a small town in New Jersey or better put, seven exits from Manhattan.
What fears have you overcome?:
Heights and Internetphobia
What was your first job in show business?:
I was a production assistant on Hollywood Squares. I saw Bruce Vilanch shirtless, asked Whoopi Goldberg how was it making out with Demi Moore, and I learned that Alf was a puppet.
What is your favorite movie?:
Godfather 1 & 2. On The Waterfront. Chinatown. Gravity. American Beauty. Goodfellas. Schindler’s List. Taxi Driver. Citizen Kane. Casablanca. And on and on… You might not have heard of these movies, but they’re a lot like Ice Age.
Who are some of your favorite directors?:
Welles, Lumet, Kazan, Hitch, Coppola, Kubrick, Spielberg, Hughes, Malick, Tarantino, Scorsese, Nolan, Greengrass, Aronofsky and Kessler.
What do you like most about producing?:
I love the collaborative nature of producing. Working with so many talented people coming together to make a great creative product. I also enjoy when the show is complete and I can sit at home with my feet kicked up, bowl of popcorn and watch the finished product on my own TV. There’s something rewarding knowing that others might be doing that as well.
What do you like about living in Hollywood?:
The weather and the tacos.
What are your favorite stories to tell?:
Human-interest stories, world travel, living abroad, adventure, real estate, life style, history, science, and crime. That reminds me, I need to pitch a show that combines all nine of those topics. I’ll call the series LIFE.
Can you get me an autograph of Katy Perry?:
No, you're too young.
What is one of your favorite quotes?:
"Love the art in yourself and not yourself in the art” - Constantin Stanislavski
